On November 15, 2017, MLN was mentioned in various publications, including Fox Business, in connection with its representation in the New York Court of Appeals (the state's highest court) of a New York fertility clinic sued after two couples gave birth to children with a genetic abnormality which was later traced back to donated eggs.  


New York Super Lawyers Magazine names 7 of MLN's attorneys as Super Lawyers or Rising Stars for its September 2017 New York Metro Edition.  Less than 5% of nominees are named to the Super Lawyers List and less than 2.5% are selected for the Rising Stars List.


Law 360 covered MLN’s landmark win in Cuevas v. Contra Costa County.  MLN served as lead counsel in this medical malpractice appeal to the California Court of Appeals, First District.  The court reversed a $9.6. million award for future medicals and remanded for a new trial on future damages.  Cuevas was the first case to hold that California’s MICRA statute applies to future collateral sources and that evidence of the Affordable Care Act was relevant and admissible at trial. April 2017.


On April 25, 2017, Caryn Lilling was honored by Hoftra Law School at its second annual Outstanding Women in Law Reception.


Law 360 covered MLN’s win in Li v. New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens.  In this right of sepulcher case MLN severed as appellate counsel for a hospital that was alleged to have misplaced fetal remains.  MLN succeeded in obtaining a reversal of a trial court’s order granting summary judgment against its client.


MLN succeeds in having $92.5 million pain and suffering award for neurologically impaired infant reduced to $4.25 million in Reilly v. St. Charles


Richard Montes was named by Latino Leaders Magazine as one of the Top Latino Lawyers in the country. December 2016


MLN is named by the New York Law Journal as the 7th largest women-owned law firm in New York.  June 2016

On April 15, 2015, the New York Law Journal published Panel Rejects Amendment as ‘Patently Devoid of Merit’, an article describing MLN’s recent win at the Appellate Division, Second Department, in Jones v. LeFrance Leasing Ltd. Partnership


On October 10, 2014, the New York Law Journal released a “Hall of Fame” for medical malpractice actions with the highest verdicts in New York State (in a 5-year window). MLN was entrusted to handle the post-trial motions and/or appeals in 7 out the 25 so-called hall of fame case.


On March 26, 2014, Richard J. Montes received the Touro Law Center Public Interest and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award.  Also in March, he was named by the Hispanic Coalition NY Inc. as one of the 2014 Rising Latino Stars Under 40.


After an extensive vetting and peer review process, Caryn L. Lilling was recently elected as a member of the prestigious Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC). Membership is by invitation only.  This 75-year-old legal organization is comprised of leaders in the legal community who have achieved professional distinction, particularly in the area of defending individuals and corporations in civil litigation. The FDCC is dedicated to promoting knowledge, fellowship and professionalism of its members.


MLN obtained a Labor Law victory in the New York Court of Appeals (New York's highest court) in Soto v J. CrewInc.


We are pleased to announce that, as a firm, MLN has more attorneys named to the 2013 New York Metro Super Lawyers list for Appellate Practice than any other firm in the State.  The list is comprised of 45 attorneys, 6 of whom are our very own.
