  • Caryn Lilling and Richard Montes co-authored an article for the Fall 2010 edition of In-House Defense Quarterly titled "An Appellate Perspective: Early Case Evaluation and Risk Management." The article focuses on analyses that can be applied pre-trial, during trial and post-trial to reduce the chances of taking a "big" verdict or to minimize the size of that verdict.

  • Kenneth Mauro and Katherine Herr Solomon have been named 2010 New York Super Lawyers in the area of Appellate Practice. Only five percent of the attorneys in the New York Metro area were named to the list.

  • On September 8, 2010, Richard J. Montes co-authored an article for the New York Law Journal titled "Defining the Duty of a Physician: Recent Developments." The article looked at recent cases addressing the issue of duty in medical malpractice cases and suggested a unifying method for analyzing the issue in the future.

  • Recently Caryn Lilling and Richard Montes gave presentations to FOJP, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork–Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, MCIC Vermont, North Shore - LIJ Health System and Physician Reciprocal Insurers entitled "A Practical Guide to CPLR Article 50-A." This program focuses on the most significant changes to Article 50-A for structuring judgments in medical malpractice cases and how the failure to apply the statute properly, during trial and settlement negotiations, can unnecessarily and drastically inflate damages.
