Caryn Lilling is the principal owner and managing partner of Mauro Lilling Naparty LLP. Ms. Lilling has enjoyed her 20 year career at MLN, beginning as its first associate upon her graduation from Hofstra University School of Law. She was instrumental in building the firm into a successful boutique appellate practice, which are very few in number around the country.
Ms. Lilling has handled hundreds of civil appeals in State and Federal Courts, and has argued cases in the New York Court of Appeals. Her name appears on many significant published opinions in a wide variety of practice areas. She frequently lectures for major insurance companies, teaching hospitals and bar associations. Ms. Lilling has published on such topics as medical malpractice, damages, emotional injury claims, premises security and appellate practice. Most recently, Ms. Lilling was selected by Long Island Business News for inclusion on its list of “Who’s Who in Professional Women.”
A graduate of the University of Michigan, with a degree in psychology, Ms. Lilling has a special interest in the relationship between psychology and the law, and has published a number of articles on the topic. In 2007, Ms. Lilling was sworn in as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate in Nassau County. The Family Court Advocate Program provides the court with trained volunteers to investigate, monitor and report to the court on the status of individual children in foster care.
